13 (very) Random Things About Me.

There are many random things about me that I thought would be fun to share with you all. I saw this on Instagram where someone wrote 10 random things about themselves. It was so funny to read because even though we try to be ‘cool’ and everything, there are some really weird and random things about each and every one of us that isn’t always easy to realize until we really think about it. As I started to jot down some ideas I realized that there are many more than 10 and many more than 13 things but as I said, sometimes its hard to realize. These are in no order what so ever,  I’m just kinda going for it… As random a number as 13 is, here are 13 random things about me:

1. I love plane journeys but flying over water freaks me out.
Lets just take a moment here. How many times have I been on a plane? I don’t even know but I am so so thankful for it all because I love to travel. I love planes. Like, love love love them but I get so scared going over water. Even though crashing on ground is worse, there’s something about drowning (above all other ways of dying) that really scares me.

Well that was a bit depressing. Don’t worry it gets happier 😉

2. I think writing letters is still the way to go.
I love technology and Facebook and everything but receiving a letter is just the best. Someone spending time to write a letter is just the cutest thing and I love it. Plus, pen pals are just the coolest things…

3. I have many weird obsessions.
These include, flower and shell picking, the colour blue, tea, America and notebooks. I can’t really explain these to you.

4. I hate many things.
These include, fish, bacon and baths. Again, I can’t explain these to you.

5. To-do lists rock my world.
There is just something very satisfying about ticking off something that needs to be done. I like being organised. I don’t like not knowing whats happening and I really don’t like being late. I am one of those people who still have a paper diary instead of a calender on my phone 😉 I never understood the whole phone calender thing.

6. Hugs make everything better.
No explanation needed.

7. Sunbathing really bores me.
I mean, lets face it, I will never get a tan. Its just hopeless, there’s no point in stressing myself out about it 😉 Nah, I actually like having pale skin. I just can’t sunbathe for any length of time. I need to read a book or go swimming. Night time is for sleeping, there’s no need for it in the day;)

8. I love the smell of new carpets.
Don’t ask.

9. I love, love.
I just think it’s the most beautiful thing. Getting a tad cheesy here, I know.

10. Painting my nails really stresses me out.
I have a problem….I don’t like not having my nails painted but I really detest painting them. 1. I can’t paint my nails, I’m not really very good at it. 2. I’m not patient enough to wait for it to dry. And knowing my luck, I always need the toilet straight after painting them so that’s always a bit of a dilemma. Its either, ruin your nails or painfully wait for them to dry. I often go for the ruin your nails option. The pain just isn’t worth it.

11. I am extremely protective over my earphones.
I am a very sociable person. I’m always up for hanging out with friends and all that jazz but I can also be very unsociable. I like being alone and having my own space. And when I can’t be alone, music gives me my own space. If that even makes sense? I like to just block the world out sometimes. Plus, teenagers can really annoy me. I can’t survive a bus journey or a walk home from school (if I’m not with a friend) without music. It just doesn’t happen. My earphones are the one thing I don’t let people borrow because I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t find them or if I lost them. Its a bit weird, but there ya go. Also, I don’t like the whole ‘lets listen to music together’ milarky either. I like hearing all the instruments not just half of them. Do you know what I mean? It just doesn’t sound as good with one earphone in. Anyway, enough about that 😉

12. I take everything everywhere.
You will very rarely see me without a bag of some sort. I always take a lot with me. I’m the kind of ‘go to girl’ if someone needs something. Tissues, inhalers, pens, make-up, paper, water and chewing gum are things people always need so someone has to be prepared. I always take a book with me everywhere as well. You never know when you’ll need something to do. I take my homework everywhere too… I rarely take my make-up because, honestly, applying it once is enough but other people might need it so… you get the idea 😉

13. Cute things are just ‘my thing’.
I love everything cute. People often associate me with being cute because I just love cute clothes, cute photos, cute ornaments, cute animals, cute everything. In fact, just to prove my point, my friend just texted me saying that we should go and find cute things for her new home:’)

This will either have made you laugh or think that I am an extremely weird person (which I am, so that is totally OK with me 🙂 ) Or both.

blogging, English, exam results, friends, German, Holiday, life, Maths, Modern Studies, results, RMPS, school, sqa, sqa results, subjects, Summer, vacation

Hey everyone,
Just a little note to say that I will be blogging everyday (hopefully!) For the rest of my Summer holidays. Reason being Is that I have been having ideas of blog posts and I hate waiting for a while before I post the next one 😉 but when the holidays are over it will be difficult to post everyday because I am in my last year of High School so its a lot of work. Fear not! I will still be blogging. Just not everyday! Oh my, its 6 days until exam results… I am so nervous. I found the exams really hard if I’m honest and I wish I was like my brother and could study 24/7. Although I actually love stidying, I do have to be in the mood for it and know what I’m doing so hopefully I studied enough to at least pass the ones I’m less confident in. I’m confident for German and Art which I got an A for German in the Prelim and a B for Art. So that was good! Then I got a C in Modern Studies and RMPS which i wanted to get up to a B in the exam but I’m not sure I wrote enough so I don’t know about that and then English I failed. English, Maths and me just dont go well. Hence why I’m questioning dropping Maths if I don’t do well in Higher RMPS and just retake it and then get an A because I’ll know most of the material already. Anyway, I’m babbling but you can see I have a lot to think about. I will tell you my results when I get them!
Have a wonderful day!:)

Date a Girl Who Travels.

I found this blog post after reading a post by a girl I follow. She re-posted ‘Date a Girl Who Writes’ (  http://kuuleilani.wordpress.com/2014/05/13/date-a-girl-who-writes/  ) Soon after, I found this blog post, Date a Girl who Travels ( http://www.solitarywanderer.com/2012/02/date-a-girl-who-travels/  ) and just added some of my own pictures 🙂

I fell in love with the way it is written and how true it is. Have a read yourself.

“Date a girl who travels. Date a girl who would rather save up for out of town trips or day trips than buy new shoes or clothes. She may not look like a fashion plate, but behind that tanned and freckled face from all the days out in the sun, lies a mind than can take you places and an open heart that will take your for what you are, not for what you can be.

Date a girl who travels. You’ll recognize her by the backpack she always carries. She won’t be carrying a dainty handbag, where will she put her travel journal, her pens and the LED flashlight that’s always attached to her bag’s zipper? In a small purse, how can she bring the small coil of travel string, the wet tissues, the box of cracker, and the bottle of water she’s always ready with, just in case something happens and she can’t go home yet.

Image

Yes, a girl who travels knows that anytime, anything can happen and she just has to be prepared with it. Nothing takes her by surprise, she takes everything with equanimity, knowing that such things are always a part of life. She’s reliable and dependable, traits that she’s learned while on the road.

You’ll also recognize a girl who travels by the fact that she’s always amazed at the world around her, no matter if she’s in her hometown or in a place that’s totally new. She sees beauty all around her, not just the ones featured in travel guides or shown in postcards. A girl who travels has developed a deeper appreciation for life. She won’t judge you, or pressure you to do things you don’t want to do. She knows too much about the importance of identity and self-efficacy, and she will appreciate all the more if you won’t pretend to be who you’re not.

You can make mistakes with a girl who travels, and you can also be as idiosyncratic as you can be. Trust me, she has seen so much worse in her travels, and knows firsthand the vagaries of human nature.

Date a girl who travels, because when you’re with her, you’ll realize that even though she’s napped at a temple in Angkor Wat, went boating down the Mekong Delta, ran by the streets of Saigon, or went skinny-dipping in the caves in the Philippines, she still retains that humility that is the mark of a real traveler. She knows she’s been to a lot of places, but she’s humbled by the fact that the world is still a big places and she’s only seen a small part of it. Seeing this in her can make you feel all right with yourself too; there’s no need for you to do more, to be more. What you are is enough.

Image

When you meet a girl who travels, ask her where she’s been and what she’s going to do next. She will appreciate your interest, and if you’re lucky, she may even invite you to join her. When she does, do. Nothing bonds people better than traveling. On your trip, you will both see each other’s best and worst characteristics, and you can then decide whether she’s worth fighting for.

It’s easy enough to date a girl who travels. She won’t want expensive gifts, you can buy her (or both of you) cheap ticket to Thailand for the weekend, and she’ll be more than happy to take you to the longest wooden bridge in the country. You don’t even have to go overseas, you can take her out on day trips, caving or hiking, or treat her to a full body massage.

You can also buy her the little things that she keeps forgetting to buy for herself; that carbine that will attach her backpack to her seat so that she will feel easier about sleeping on her bus trip, or a backpack cover, a small alarm clock, a money belt, or many another sarong that will replace the one she lost in China.

She won’t mind if you get lost on your way to a date. She knows that often times, the journey is more important than the destination. She will help you see the lighter side of things. She’ll walk along with you, not behind you, pointing out the interesting bits of things you’ll see on the way. Before long, you’ll realize that yes, the journey has been more memorable than the destination that you’ve planned to take her to.

Image

Is a girl who travels worth it? Yes, she is. So when you find her, keep her. Don’t lose her with your insecurities and doubts. Because when she says she loves you, she really does. After all, she’s seen so many things, met so many people, and if she has chosen you, better grab that opportunity and thank the gods that you were lucky enough she’s chosen you and not that bloke she met while watching the sunrise in Angkor Wat, or while whitewater rafting in the Padas Gorge in Sabah.

If she says she loves you, she must have seen something in you, something that can always call her back from her travels, something that can anchor her to the world in the way that she wants to after weeks and months of being on the road.

Date a girl who travels. Make her feel safe, warm and secure. Make her believe that no matter where she goes, and however long she’s gone, you’ll always be there for her, the one that she can call home.

Find a girl who travels. Date her, love her. and marry her, and your world will never be the same again.”

My 2013 Journey.

2013 journey, church, education, experiences, family, friends, Germany, God, Hope, Joy, life, love, music, school, sermon, Summer, tea, thankful, vacation, worship

I have absolutely no idea how long this post is going to be. So, just in case, grab yourself a mug of tea before you start reading! 🙂

Got tea? Good. Lets start.

2013…. A journey is, well, one way of putting it. As everybody says, 2013 has gone so unbelievably fast. And it has. I remember so
clearly the day I moved with my mum to a knew house/apartment/flat. Whatever you call it. One of my dearest friends helped me move in. After all, she did want to be an interior designer so of course, that was handy 😉

This year, I mostly remember moving. Moving from my dads, to a place with my mum, to my friends, to another friends and then to
another place with my mum. 5 houses in one year. Until 2013 I could say that I have lived in one house my entire life. Not anymore.
I’m guessing your wondering what all the moving is about. I did too, until now. I realize that to be honest the whole moving milarky was not at all fabulous timing. The awkwardness of still having a family holiday in Germany booked and exams taking up a lot of time. With a lot on your mind, it isn’t great for concentrating. I don’t want to go into everything but basically, an overview is, my brother was
already at university. My mum didn’t want to leave until he was there because she wanted to make sure that the process didn’t worry
him and she wanted him to go to university worry-less, I guess. So, I think it was the 7th of January we moved out. Into a homely apartment about 10 minutes walk from my school.
Perfect. The problem, was that because of the situation, my mum was having a lot of difficulties in being worry-less and not letting the past take up a lot of her thoughts. However, we were in this apartment until after the Summer. If theres one
thing I learned from this year, it would be that God always provides me with something to look forward too. God knows me well, he knows I always look ahead. I’m a bit of a planner. So, having something to look forward to always kept me going. I had a lovely holiday in Germany in the Summer for 3 weeks. I loved seeing my friends and family and doing all the things we do in Germany 🙂 Then, in
August or September, my mum went to hospital and I stayed with some fake big sisters until we figured out what to do. Ah I remember! This was a week before I turned 16 which meant I still needed my parents agreement of where I’d live. Luckily, everything turned out OK and I stayed with them for a little while before moving into one of my best friends house. They are my second parents and Rachael is the little sister I never had. Anyhow, I stayed with them for a couple of months until, I think, the beginning of December when I moved into a flat with my mum again. And now, I’m here. So, that is the moving journey out of the way 😉

How about my journey with God over this year? I have had my ups and downs. I never fell away from God. Ever. Sometimes, I have
more trust at some points than others. At the end of August/beginning of September Rachael asked me if I wanted to go to Kings.
(Kings is a church. We know a lot of people there from Summer camps but had never actually gone.) So we went. And we loved it!
The worship was so captivating, the sermons were easy to follow (They even have fill in the blank sheets so you know the main notes from the sermon 😉 ) and funny and the youth are just some of my favorite people on the earth! They are so much fun… It wasn’t
difficult to make friends since we were already familiar with some of them and we were introduced to others which was lovely 🙂 We
really love it there! And for me, I feel that I get a lot more out of church and spending time with God in the Kings atmosphere 🙂 Now,
we aren’t the ‘new ones’ anymore. We kind of just blend in, so to speak haha!

Lets talk about school for just a minute, I’m in 5th year now, woohoo! I love school. Sorry… Weird outburst from a teenager there. Now though, especially since I chose my subjects, I’m doing subjects that I like and am interested in which makes the whole, going to
school for 6 and a half hours and then coming home to study, not as bad as one might think. One of the best things when you
become ‘the older part of the school’ is that your teachers aren’t just the people who tell you what to do and give you homework.
Instead, they are kind of like friends, in a strange way. They don’t treat you like kids anymore. They are much more layed back and open. I think its great when teachers are good teachers but they also have a laugh. I can’t think of one teacher that I have now that doesn’t take some time out of lessons to just talk to us. My English teacher, is really hilarious. As terrible as it is that most of us are bad at writing essays (She is actually a really really good teacher but my class just can’t grasp the concept of having prelims and needing to
improve from standard grade, including me. English is hard!) she is so funny! She mocks us of our mistakes. Really obvious things
that just sound so stupid when she reads them aloud to the class. I have two r.e teachers, one telling us stories of his childhood and
the other, playing a bit of LZ7 in the class, on occasion and giving us sweeties in our double period. Ace. My art teacher comes across as very peculiar, if you don’t have him as a teacher, you believe just that. In actual fact, he is very clever and has a lot of knowledge and opinions which often turn into class discussions. But this teacher, best not to get on the wrong side of him. My Modern Studies teacher, going to be honest, not a lot of people are fond of him. I like him though.. He is funny even if he doesn’t intend to be and he
knows SO much.. You could ask him about anything and he’d know. Don’t get on the bad side of him either but he is a really fair
teacher even if he is quite strict, you see the soft side when some of his personal life creeps into discussion or when he brings food
on the last day. Lastly, my German teacher. Safe to say, he is one of my favorite teachers ever! German is a very small class, 3 in
fact. Lets just say, he falls asleep in class. My brother also had him, he was reading him his essay and he fell asleep. Its not even that he’s bored he’s actually genuinely zonked. That was once, he usually doesn’t fall asleep when he’s teaching! I’m telling the truth! He
just falls asleep when we’re doing work because we’re so quiet. He is a very good teacher (All 3 of us are close to and getting full
marks in pastpapers. That gives him credit!) and he knows so so many languages. He just blurts out foreign phrases that he then teaches us. We’ve had, Latin, Dutch, Norwegian, Danish, French, Italian. Pretty much any European language he’ll have some
knowledge of and speaks fluently in French, German and Danish. Its fab! He even took us on a cultural trip to Hamburg with the
Standard Grade German class and their teacher in the beginning of December. I have gone of on a VERY long tangent but school..
Is just…cool!! I wish I still had my old History teacher though.. He’s seriously one of my all time favorites! I have so much to thank him
for… Safe to say that if I ever have no one to talk to about something.. I go to him. I think, the actual best teacher I’ve ever had! Not
just because he’s a favorite but because he actually is!

Annnnyway,.. (if you didn’t get that mug of tea, I bet you wish you did!) this blog post really needs to come to an end. Please pray that my prelims that are coming up will go well 🙂 And that Gods plan for me would become clear. (more on that later)
Just last of all… I cannot even begin to express my excitement for tomorrow!! I am journeying to Glasgow for a day with Peta!!! Woooohooo!:D I miss her so much and we are just going to have the best day:)

As I said, God always gives me something exciting to look forward to! Turning 16, the spontaneous days, cinema trips (Hunger Games!!!The Hobbit!!!), Dores breakfasts, (its the simple things that make my heart happy), Hamburg, spending Christmas with my friends,
New Years ceilidh, Glasgow. I could go on. God is wonderful!

Now, Rachael, Anna and I are enjoying cakes and hot chocolate at So Coco. Bliss. Take a look:

Pinterest Update – Travelling.

beautiful, bible, devotional life, facebook, flights, friends, God, guitar, Holiday, jesus, life, music, Pinterest, Road trips, sermon, singing, tea, travelling, vacation

Now.. we all know I love travelling 🙂 From road trips 30 minuets away to flights across the world. Its just something that I become so excited about.. so so excited about so of course it has to be a ‘board’ on my Pinterest. Before I get into the beautiful pictures I have found, I wanted to tell you about what I have been thinking about this week.

This week I have been thinking about my devotional life. yup. It is probably something quit normal to think about but I was thinking about it a lot this week. I like to wake up in the morning, early. Or earlier than probably most teenagers. I aim to wake up at 6am. The thing is.. that stretches to 6.30 and I get ready for 7 and read. Then I wake Rachael up at 7.30… that only gives me 30 minutes. Personally, I didn’t think that is enough time for me to spend with God in the morning. So, I was thinking about it. I want to be as excited about getting up in the morning to read and pray as much as I am for going on holiday or on a road trips. Here’s something for you to laugh at. When I was younger, I packed my suitcase 3 months before going on holidays. 😀 yes.. every time I would count exactly 3 months and start packing. Its quit funny actually. Anyway, back to the point 😉 During the week, I was watching a sermon by my friend Peta about devotional life (perfect timing eh? 😀 ) and now that I have been trying to spend more time with God, if I don’t read my bible for long enough in the morning I come home from school and drink tea and read. For example, today was great!! I came home and made tea (Oh my… I’ve been drinking Earl Grey with Honey… 😀 ) and read my bible for a while. Then, I played guitar for a while and wrote two songs. One of which isn’t even recordable yet and the other which is just recordable. Peta and I both love to play guitar and sing but we all know that I could never ever even to Peta, one of my best friends, sing that in front of her when know one else has ever heard it. Nope, just wouldn’t happen. So, trusty Whatsapp did the job and she listened to it.. I was so nervous.. I had butterfly’s 😀 (pathetic, I know) About 5 minuets later, I got a Facebook update saying that she had tagged me in a post.
Here is what it said: “So Lisa Frantz just sent me a recording of her latest song… Seriously one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard. Jesus is happy. So am I 🙂 ”

How encouraging! I’m not very confident and to get that encouragement just made my day. Seriously 🙂 I have wonderful friends.

So, my point is, I am aiming to be as excited for devotional time as I am going on holiday 😀
Here are the all important travelling pinterest pictures 😉 I’m of to church now 🙂

God Is Love.

Now, I realize this was my first time back at church since before Germany so I think I am a bit behind with all the sermons but today we looked at a fruit of the spirit, Love.

God’s love:
– His character
– It’s everlasting
– For everybody
– The unlovely
– His motivation.

Let me explain.
How do we describe God? God is love. If you look into other religions, if you read the Koran there is nothing that says anything about God of love. Our God has everlasting love. Everlasting. Whether you are pleasing him and serving Him or doing things that break his heart, his love never changes. He loves you always. God loves the unlovely. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son. Why? because he loves us, even the unlovely.

We need to have passion for the lost. We need to love the lost like God loves the lost.
Love is: Patient, not jealous, not proud, not self seeking, no wrongs, rejoices in truth, trusts, perseveres, kind, does not brag, not rude, not angered, no delight in evil, protects, hopes, love never fails. We must not keep records of any wrongs!

Now, love is tough. God says we are to love God, we are to love each other, we are to love our neighbor, we are to love our enemies, we need to love with all our mind, heart, soul and strength (Just like Maria explained in the kids talk during the service).

There is good news! It is Gods love through us. *exhale*. That makes it easier right? Its a fruit of the spirit.
Our responsibility is to “Enjoy serving the Lord and he will give you what you want.” (Psalm 37 verse 4)

There are results of loving.
1. God gets excited.
2. The world is touched.
3. We are enriched.

The love of Jesus flows in our lives.
Amen.

P.s you have homework! Well, we got homework 😀 Our Pastor said we should read Ephesians chapter 3 verse 14 to 21 (The end of the chapter) every day for a week (or longer if you like;) )  I encourage you to do the same 🙂

Now, after church Rachael and I longboarded back to her house. Just for the fun of it. I did have a rather funny experience. Just as we were leaving Peta, your longboard decided to make its way into the bike compartment. Now baring in mind it’s a Sunday which meant all gates were shut and probably padlocked, so this led me to having one choice. Climb the fence. I’m about 5’1, I estimate the gate being double the size of me if not more so I had to sort of pull myself up over it, in a dress. Lol!! It was quit funny. I guess all those childhood years of climbing trees does come in handy in situations like these 😀

Somewhere I have always wanted to go is America. I don’t know why. I guess I just imagine it to be beautiful. I know, other places are beautiful too but I just want to see it. Maybe it is all the movies that are made in America or maybe it’s the people. Either way, I would love to visit. I also think that it would be a cool place to visit with friends.

My friend and I already made a plan 😀 We’re going to go on a America tour. Whether it happens or not, I don’t know 😀 So, now Becca can also drive we have another driver haha! The 2 places that I would most like to visit are California and New York. I also really want to go to I HOP one day too! I would love to study there too but it’s free here and costs a tun over there so I’m not sure how that is going to work out 😀

Yesterday Becca and I were invited to Rachaels for dinner. We went to pick up Becca on our way and we exchanged gifts 🙂 Now, normally I’d run up and hug my friend if I hadn’t seen them in ages but I new Becca wouldn’t appreciate that so I didn’t 😀 I love seeing friends! So, we headed to Rachaels and ate a wonderfully prepared meal cooked by Rachaels mum. I did take pictures but I accidentally deleted them 😛
We heard many amusing stories from Becca’s Summer Travels. It was such a good catch up 😀

Today I went off on a food shop to Asda.

I collected a white bed side table from my Dads house. After that, I was just in the mood to make my room lovelier.. And this is what happened 😀 ImageImage

I also re-organized my cosmeticy stuff into cups. I thought it was cool 😀

I don’t actually where that much make up. Most of the time is just moisturizer, concealer and mascara. I can’t be bothered with anything else haha!

Yes. There are now many parts of my bedroom with Rose petals 😀 Roses are so pretty.
