HEIRS AND DOGS

” 1 John 3:1
‘ How great is the love the Father has lavished on us,that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!’

A new convert approached Watchman Nee in deep anguish of soul, saying, ‘No matter how much I pray, no matter how hard I try, I simply cannot seem to be faithful to my Lord. I think I’m losing my salvation.’ Watchman Nee replied, ‘Do you see this dog here? He is my dog. He is house-trained; he never makes a mess; he is obedient; he is a pure delight to me. Out in the kitchen I have a son, a baby son. He throws his food around, he fouls his clothes, he’s a total mess. But who is going to inherit my kingdom? Not my dog. My son in my heir! And you are Jesus Christ’s heir because it is fo you that he died.’
It’s deeply liberating to know we are Christ’s heirs not through our strivings for perfections, but simply by means of grace. It’s difficult for us to grasp fully the concept of grace. Maybe this illustration will help: A burglar broke into a house and killed a sleeping baby. If the father tracked down the burglar and killed him, that would be revenge. If the law took its course and the burglar was sent to prison, that would be justice. If the father forgave the burglar, took him into his home, and treated him as his own son, that would be grace. It sounds an absurd scenario, yet that’s what God did for us, even though it was we who killed his son. How about spending some time meditating on that for a while?”

Evangelism…

Today at church we had the second part of the series with a lady called Charity preaching. She was preaching about Evangelism.

We talked about how we need to share God with people and that for the last years we have had an explosion of evangelism. There are street pastors, ministries, healing on the streets and others. Now the older ways of handing our tapes no longer works but the street pastors are found to be attending festivals and schools and this will grow.

Charity saw a vision. The vision was of a group of many people. She asked God who they were and He replied that its His army for the end times. wow 🙂

The work place is a place where we should share our beliefs. It isn’t just in the office. It is anywhere you go for the business. Although, now a days in most jobs we just can’t share the gospel with them. We are almost forbidden to do so. That is the problem, if we can’t share we get discouraged that it isn’t working. We must remember that we have spiritual gifts and God can help us with these.

There are 7 mountains:
Church, Media, Arts & Entertainment, Government, Education, Family, Business & Economy.
These are mountains in which we could share the gospel. We do need to understand our purpose and then we live with such purpose.

Charity said that she had a friend who was a doctor. The doctor said she felt much less spiritual than her and Charity couldn’t believe her ears. She said that we shouldn’t be… that her friend is working with God and she couldn’t do what she is doing. That she is doing what God wants her to do and is saving children from parts of their body that are injured so they can live a normal life. How would you feel less spiritual? God gave her that ability and she can talk about God in her work place. That is the way we should think. No one is less spiritual than the other.

What do you feel that God is asking you to do? Sometimes we feel we don’t have the skills or we think we have the skill at a lower level than we need. We can ask God for it though.. There are people who were given a whole language over night because they were called to a different nation.. lets seek him.

Ask yourself these questions:
– What do you have in yours hands already?
– What is the vision/mandate God is giving you?
– Where are you positioned?
– What is your Sphere of influence?

If we know what we have, people will ask us how we have such compassion and joy.. even in the bad times.
People feel that they don’t have power. They play computer games or watch movies but when they are no better of!

Daniel 4 verse 6-8
‘So I issued an order calling in all the wise men of Babylon, so they could tell me what my dream meant. When all the magicians, enchanters, astrologers  and fortune tellers come in, I told them the dream, but they could not tell me what it meant. At last Daniel came in before me and I told him the dream. (He was named Belteshazzer after my God, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)

Daniel carried the spirit of the holy God and you carry the spirit of the holy God. The people on this earth, the ones that wear suits and think they have power, they look for that power in the news and news papers. If the church doesn’t learn how to hear God then the people will keep looking for the truth in these doomed places. Can you imagine the impact Joseph had? God is looking for Josephs and Daniels. They felt overwhelmed and that the world was more powerful but they believed God has the most power. Some of us are overwhelmed but maybe we are building character to build a relationship with God.

Impartation is a secret weapon in the mountains. Jesus imparted the power of the Kingdom but he knew what he carried. We must believe that we can impart. Without saying a word you can ask God what you carry in faith and release that in the workplace. They begin to come to you and open up to you even when you didn’t say anything. God wants us to have fresh hope and lay down the feeling of not being as spiritual as others. We shouldn’t be afraid.

God Is Love.

Now, I realize this was my first time back at church since before Germany so I think I am a bit behind with all the sermons but today we looked at a fruit of the spirit, Love.

God’s love:
– His character
– It’s everlasting
– For everybody
– The unlovely
– His motivation.

Let me explain.
How do we describe God? God is love. If you look into other religions, if you read the Koran there is nothing that says anything about God of love. Our God has everlasting love. Everlasting. Whether you are pleasing him and serving Him or doing things that break his heart, his love never changes. He loves you always. God loves the unlovely. For God so loved the world that He gave His only son. Why? because he loves us, even the unlovely.

We need to have passion for the lost. We need to love the lost like God loves the lost.
Love is: Patient, not jealous, not proud, not self seeking, no wrongs, rejoices in truth, trusts, perseveres, kind, does not brag, not rude, not angered, no delight in evil, protects, hopes, love never fails. We must not keep records of any wrongs!

Now, love is tough. God says we are to love God, we are to love each other, we are to love our neighbor, we are to love our enemies, we need to love with all our mind, heart, soul and strength (Just like Maria explained in the kids talk during the service).

There is good news! It is Gods love through us. *exhale*. That makes it easier right? Its a fruit of the spirit.
Our responsibility is to “Enjoy serving the Lord and he will give you what you want.” (Psalm 37 verse 4)

There are results of loving.
1. God gets excited.
2. The world is touched.
3. We are enriched.

The love of Jesus flows in our lives.
Amen.

P.s you have homework! Well, we got homework 😀 Our Pastor said we should read Ephesians chapter 3 verse 14 to 21 (The end of the chapter) every day for a week (or longer if you like;) )  I encourage you to do the same 🙂

Now, after church Rachael and I longboarded back to her house. Just for the fun of it. I did have a rather funny experience. Just as we were leaving Peta, your longboard decided to make its way into the bike compartment. Now baring in mind it’s a Sunday which meant all gates were shut and probably padlocked, so this led me to having one choice. Climb the fence. I’m about 5’1, I estimate the gate being double the size of me if not more so I had to sort of pull myself up over it, in a dress. Lol!! It was quit funny. I guess all those childhood years of climbing trees does come in handy in situations like these 😀

New Hope – Choices That Determine The Condition Of Your Spirit.

04 Saturday May 2013

band, beautiful, belief, bible, church, City, Egypt, faith, forgiveness, friends, friendship, God, Hope, inspiration, instrument, laughter, life, love, music, New Hope, people, praise, prom, promises, quotes, singing, spirit, Talent, trust, worship, youth

Our spirit will come out of everything we do! For example people may look beautiful but what comes out if their mouths is ugly. We always look at peoples looks and talents . But what will keep our friendships? The kind of spirit you have will give fruit to your attitude.

1. choose the perspective with which you define life’s events. Perspective is the way you define things. “The lamb of your body is the eye. If your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. If your eye is bad, your whole body will be filled with darkness, If then the light in you is darkness, how great shall that darkness be.” (mat. 6:22)

If your always thinking about things in a worse state, If theirs always a but there is something wrong with your spirit. There is nothing impossible for God. If you keep telling yourself that it is too hard then that’s what you will believe. There is nothing impossible for God. You need to see it in Gods perspective. “But my servant Caleb because he has a different spirit and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land which he entered, and his descendants will take possession of it.” (Num. 14:24)

In order to perceive life correctly, there are three things we have to work on:

First: Yourself.

Its so important to read the bible every day. To devote time. “Nevertheless, the people who live in the land are strong, the cities are fortified and very large, and we say the Nephilim….and we became grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.” (Num. 13:28 & 33) This means that how you see yourself that’s how others will see you. its important to see your self accurately. If you see yourself as useless others will see you as useless. if you see yourself as blessed others will too. How you see you yourself is how others see you. You need to see yourself how God sees you, valuable and precious.

Second: your past don’t let your past hold you hostage

Third: a clear perception of your future. Have inspiration.

2. choose the measure of difficulty you will assign to life’s events.

you’ve got to choose how you see things. “Caleb quieted the people before Moses and said ‘Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” (Num. 13:30)

You need to have a different spirit and believe you can overcome it. “The land which we passed through to spy out is an exceedingly good land. If the Lord is pleased with us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us – a land which flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord and do not fear the people of the land…” (Num. 14: 7-9)

They don’t see it as a problem because they are seeing it from gods perspective, They trust God. what kind of spirit do you have when you encounter a problem? when you hit a wall? do you freak out or do you know that God is for you, that God is with you and you will learn from the experiences because He is with you.

3.choose a life style of faith over forgiveness gods gives you forgiveness so we will have a life of faith. “So the Lord said, ‘I have pardoned them according to your word, but… surely all the men who have seen My glory and My signs which I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness and yet have put Me to the test these ten times and have not listened to My voice, they shall by no means see the land which I swore to their fathers…'” (Num. 14:20-23)

We want God to forgive us and he will. Choose a lifestyle of faith. The goal shouldn’t be for forgiveness to carry on that sin, but you should live with faith. The goal should be living a life of faith. Move on to what God has promised don’t carry on the same sin over and over.

An example: A girl wanted to go to Prom so her father bought her a beautiful dress. On her way she found a mud puddle, she jumped into it. She came running back to her father. “Dad, my dress is ruined” so her father bought her a new one. She went to Prom but on her way was another mud puddle and she just couldn’t resist so she ruined her dress again. That’s what Gods like. He will forgive us for our sins over and over but we never get to prom.

When God died on the cross he died for our sins that we have done and still going to do. your sins are already payed for.

what has God promise you? you need to have a good perspective. Don’t circle around the same sin! Get to the promise. You can say “I’m always messing up…” The good news is that someone is always interceding for us. Right now God is interceding.

we need to be bold and not ashamed of telling people about the bible. We need to reach our cities. Trust God. Cry out to God. move into the promises that God has given you. Be all you are created to be. reveal the heart of God to this city. Amen!

Today at church I found a diary. A diary that says “Fashioned By The Father” with my love for fashion that caught my eye 😀 So I opened the diary and instead of buying it in just look pictures of the quotes I loved. Here they are

“Every woman should have a mirror that reflects her spirit – that’s where God brings out her true beauty”

“The most fashionable coat we will ever wear is one made of kindness and love”

“Go after your dreams – God created you to live them!”

“The good things God has for you are more exciting than a clearance shoe sale and s box of chocolates put together”

“She LIVES. She LOVES. She LAUGHS. She makes everyday a celebration of who she is in Christ”

“Be inspired. Be brave. Be YOU!”

“No doubt about it – a woman on fire for God is a force be reckoned”

“Her spirit loved to bask in the brightness of her future”

“The Godly woman faces her challenges with prayer, a sense of adventure, and a great pair of boots”

“A wise woman will always ask for directions – and God always gives them”

“The best form of exercise has nothing to do with equipment – and everything to do with faith”

“When God asks you to step out of your comfort zone, do it – and wear a glorious pair of shoes”

“God wants to use you yo adorn the world with His beauty – no matter what kind of hair day you’re having”

“Hope! it will keep you looking young”

I love it!!
