Thank you so much to Eilidh (Turn The Faucet On) for tagging me to take part in this tag. I haven’t done anything like this in a while but I thought it would be a lot of fun. I’ve always been big on reading. Last year I struggled a lot with being able to sit down a concentrate on a book. It was sad, let me tell you. However, if you know me, you’ll know that I love love love books. I love to dive into another world. Anyway, here we are:

2

  1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

Well, I normally don’t have as many as 20,000… but I understand the exaggeration is for effect. Unless you have a homemade library that is. Also very possible! In my case, I live in student accommodation and sadly can’t manage to fit 100 book shelves in my dorm room. I know, I know, it saddens me greatly. However, if I have a list of books that I need to read, I normally just read the blurb of each one and decide what I feel like reading at the time. Either that, or I read the first chapter of each of the books and see which one I find most intriguing. Or just ask a friend to decide for me. I’ve never been good at making decisions, lets be honest.

  2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

Honestly, a book needs to be a page turner for me to keep reading. My ‘to read’ list is almost always so big that there’s no time to waste. I mean, if I have to read it, I will and don’t get me wrong I appreciate the book.. I just physically can’t concentrate or follow the story very well if it isn’t my kind of book. You can call me narrow minded if you like. I love it when you find a book that you just can not stop reading. It’s the best feeling the world.

  3.  The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

I don’t have one of those.

  4. The covers of a series you love. Do. Not. Match. How do you cope?

Oh. Man. This infuriates me. Like, WHY? Why would you do that. I don’t understand. They need to match.. it annoys me as much as when there are first, second and third movies but the story doesn’t continue… they call it ‘the second film’ and then it’s a completely different story. Yea, I’m rambling now. It really frustrates me and I can’t cope and that frustrates me more. Its a vicious cycle aha!

  5. Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

Since coming to college, I’ve met a few avid readers. Including my closest friend and neighbor here in halls who I was tagged by to do this tag and also another girl who’s room is literally over flowing with books. Its great. We always exchange ideas and perspective on books we’ve read and recommend books to each other. Love it.

  6. You are reading a book and are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I don’t tend to cry over books. I’m not entirely sure why. I cry at films All. The. Time. I think it might be because I can, to a certain extend, create what I’m picturing in my head when I read. Where as, with a film, it’s right there in front of you and you have no choice but to take it for what it is and cry your little heart out. I don’t know if that makes any sense? It does to me :’)

  7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you reread the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads?

I normally don’t re read books but in this case I would. I mean, it depends on how much I loved the series but of course, if it was incredible I’ll want to be up to date with it so I’ll re read it. I did this for The Hunger Games. Best idea ever.

  8. You do not want anyone, ANYONE, borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope?

Typically, I don’t mind people borrowing my books. It depends who it is but if I haven’t read the book I’d have to trust them enough that they’d give it back before I part with it. Saying this, I guess I wouldn’t be friends with people I don’t trust so I think we’re all good.

  9. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

If this happens, I tend to make an effort to find the most amazing book, with hundreds of good reviews and recommendations on the internet as well as by people I know. Finding a page turner normally gets me back into the reading spirit.

  10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

I just buy one book a time normally because who knows, I might change my mind on all of the books by the time I finish the first one so I try to be efficient and just read one at a time. Or… get them from the library in the dozens.

  11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

I guess this doesn’t apply to me ;)Much Love,

    Lisa

Evangelism…

Today at church we had the second part of the series with a lady called Charity preaching. She was preaching about Evangelism.

We talked about how we need to share God with people and that for the last years we have had an explosion of evangelism. There are street pastors, ministries, healing on the streets and others. Now the older ways of handing our tapes no longer works but the street pastors are found to be attending festivals and schools and this will grow.

Charity saw a vision. The vision was of a group of many people. She asked God who they were and He replied that its His army for the end times. wow 🙂

The work place is a place where we should share our beliefs. It isn’t just in the office. It is anywhere you go for the business. Although, now a days in most jobs we just can’t share the gospel with them. We are almost forbidden to do so. That is the problem, if we can’t share we get discouraged that it isn’t working. We must remember that we have spiritual gifts and God can help us with these.

There are 7 mountains:
Church, Media, Arts & Entertainment, Government, Education, Family, Business & Economy.
These are mountains in which we could share the gospel. We do need to understand our purpose and then we live with such purpose.

Charity said that she had a friend who was a doctor. The doctor said she felt much less spiritual than her and Charity couldn’t believe her ears. She said that we shouldn’t be… that her friend is working with God and she couldn’t do what she is doing. That she is doing what God wants her to do and is saving children from parts of their body that are injured so they can live a normal life. How would you feel less spiritual? God gave her that ability and she can talk about God in her work place. That is the way we should think. No one is less spiritual than the other.

What do you feel that God is asking you to do? Sometimes we feel we don’t have the skills or we think we have the skill at a lower level than we need. We can ask God for it though.. There are people who were given a whole language over night because they were called to a different nation.. lets seek him.

Ask yourself these questions:
– What do you have in yours hands already?
– What is the vision/mandate God is giving you?
– Where are you positioned?
– What is your Sphere of influence?

If we know what we have, people will ask us how we have such compassion and joy.. even in the bad times.
People feel that they don’t have power. They play computer games or watch movies but when they are no better of!

Daniel 4 verse 6-8
‘So I issued an order calling in all the wise men of Babylon, so they could tell me what my dream meant. When all the magicians, enchanters, astrologers  and fortune tellers come in, I told them the dream, but they could not tell me what it meant. At last Daniel came in before me and I told him the dream. (He was named Belteshazzer after my God, and the spirit of the holy gods is in him.)

Daniel carried the spirit of the holy God and you carry the spirit of the holy God. The people on this earth, the ones that wear suits and think they have power, they look for that power in the news and news papers. If the church doesn’t learn how to hear God then the people will keep looking for the truth in these doomed places. Can you imagine the impact Joseph had? God is looking for Josephs and Daniels. They felt overwhelmed and that the world was more powerful but they believed God has the most power. Some of us are overwhelmed but maybe we are building character to build a relationship with God.

Impartation is a secret weapon in the mountains. Jesus imparted the power of the Kingdom but he knew what he carried. We must believe that we can impart. Without saying a word you can ask God what you carry in faith and release that in the workplace. They begin to come to you and open up to you even when you didn’t say anything. God wants us to have fresh hope and lay down the feeling of not being as spiritual as others. We shouldn’t be afraid.

Somewhere I have always wanted to go is America. I don’t know why. I guess I just imagine it to be beautiful. I know, other places are beautiful too but I just want to see it. Maybe it is all the movies that are made in America or maybe it’s the people. Either way, I would love to visit. I also think that it would be a cool place to visit with friends.

My friend and I already made a plan 😀 We’re going to go on a America tour. Whether it happens or not, I don’t know 😀 So, now Becca can also drive we have another driver haha! The 2 places that I would most like to visit are California and New York. I also really want to go to I HOP one day too! I would love to study there too but it’s free here and costs a tun over there so I’m not sure how that is going to work out 😀

These days I’m having to study A LOT! I didn’t take my revision to Germany because well, there was no room (good excuse right? :D) so now I have to do it. All. In one week. Apart from the odd movie or listening to music to be relaxed I have been studying a lot. for me. if you know me, you’ll know I hate studying… it’s just so dull!! I don’t mind it so much if I have to read something through a couple of times but spending 2 hours on ONE HISTORY pastpaper. That’s quite a long time. I am taking a break to blog and email right now but then I have to do English, history and French pastpapers. All to be done by tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Today my mum took a while longer to get ready so my day started later than usual. Its 14.15 and I am at my dad’s.
I was just at CLC book shop to see if they have a journal.. And I found one 🙂 I go through journal sooo quickly and I haven’t had the chance to buy one so now I have another one. I also found a travel journal there so I will get that one after this one so I can journal my holidays. As always. My mum is just collecting some clothes for her knew job starting this week. I just skyped my friends who are in America right now. It was SO good to speak to them and I saw their room and outside 😀
Tonight my friend is staying at mine and I told her to bring all her “Friends” Dvd’s. “Friends” is SO good and it’s SO funny!! Or for me it is. I have 1 of their dvd’s and I have watched it soo much so I am excited to see some more. I will leave you with a picture on my knew Journal. I love just journaling about anything and everything. I have been doing it since I can remember 🙂 Here you go:

Our Day

So as you all know today, we had an art day. Since I probably won’t be able to post tomorrow as I will be at my mums I thought I would do a few posts today. The last one was just pictures so 1 more post is coming up after this 😉

Anyway, Today was amazing! it went so fast though 😦 We all arrived at 11, started our canvases and then while some of us were getting food my friend and I stayed and read our books, while of course keeping an eye on the dog. Which I have to say was very naughty today. He was always after the food, as dogs are. We ate and had a worship time – singing and doing art. And then, we watched 2 movies with Tea and then Pizza. The stock of tea has to always be high in that house, always.
We also had a conversation about dating 😀 what we would and wouldn’t accept on a first date. Quite interesting actually.. other peoples views (:
So that took us to about 9.00 and then I came home. After my next post I might read a bit of my book (which I will give a review on when I’m done) and then go to bed.
Such a lovely day, can’t wait for more art days.. I never really paint.. I more like designing. In school, I can never do the drawing but when it comes to designing something.. I’m in. For example, we made a mask 🙂 I am happy with it 🙂 I now think I have a new found hobby. I never had the idea of putting scrapbook paper or words onto a canvas.. I always saw paintings an a portrait or something in spacific when actually, it’s just like scrapbooking. And I lovvveee scrapbooking. I guess this day has given me a knew view and idea.
