Why hello there,
Yesterday I got a tattoo! And I really wanted to share it with you.
I’ve wanted a tattoo for many years and I’ve known what I wanted but I’ve been reluctant because 1) I wasn’t 18 (So.. obvious reason) and 2) it’s quite expensive. However, while being at college I saved up a little bit and yesterday I just went for it, because, why not? I know I’ll be in love with it for ever because its a simple quote that helps me in general day to day life. It’s not like a got a huge lion on my leg – that, I personally might not have been quite so fond of in 30 years. ( Unless it was Alsan.. Anyway moving on..)

I got ‘one day at a time’ tattooed on my right wrist.

There are a few reasons why I chose this particular quote.

  1. Inspirational quotes are just my thing. I love them. I write meaningful things and hang them on my wall and it’s nice to look at. However, ‘one day at a time’ made it onto my skin because its the one that stands out for me and the one I want to wake up and read every day and everywhere I go.
  2. I’m constantly stressed. I feel like it’s just the way life is going to go for me. I worry a lot and it’s because I care a lot about a lot of things. My stress is often (more often than not..) unnecessary but I find it difficult to realise that a heck of a lot of the time. The words on my arm just remind me to breathe, to take my time and to not look so far a head that I can’t see clearly anymore. It reminds me, literally, to take one day at a time because I can often take a thousand days at a time and you can imagine how stressful that is in my mind. It isn’t healthy and I love that every day I can be reminded to take life day by day.
  3. On a more serious note, the tattoo on my wrist is also a recovery thing. As well as stress and anxiety, I struggled with self harm for a number of years. The tattoo is so that when I feel triggered, I can look at my wrist and take a second to re think what my mind is telling me to do. So that on the more difficult days, I can be reminded to get through each day, one by one, without acting on my impulses. And so that I can be proud of myself.

Oh and it’s on my right wrist simply because I’m right handed so I do everything with that hand in case you didn’t already guess. Pain wise, it feels like exactly what it is – someone dragging a needle in your skin. There’s no other way to put it. The pain is totally bearable.. I mean, I cry at getting my eye brows done and I didn’t cry at this. If you’re wondering whether to get a tattoo but are worried about the pain, just know that it is a bit sore but if you want the tattoo enough it doesn’t even matter and its totally worth it let me tell you! Go for it! ( I might write another blog post about my whole experience/aftercare/etc if you’re interested?)So, there we have it. I hope you’re all dying to see this tattoo because I’m dying show it to you!

    FullSizeRender IMG_5604FullSizeRender (1)

P.s the adrenalin after getting a tattoo is insane. I felt so on top of the world :’D

ALSO, I got these funky cat shorts today… I mean I’m now officially utterly skint but £5 these were in the H&M sale. I couldn’t not get them… like really.. I mean look at them. LOOK AT THEM!

FullSizeRender (2)

Aren’t they just the best invention in all of history?! I think so.

:’) Much love,

Lisa xo

Being With My Best Friends :D

Today was the day we headed for a deliciously wonderful Dores Breakfast. As always, it didn’t let us down. Most of us had French Toast with Maple Syrup and Bacon. I don’t like bacon and never have (as far as I can remember) and its Vegetarian week so I just order it for Rachael or Rachaels brother who is always delighted when I don’t finish my French Toast and Bacon lol!! Anyway, it was wonderful and I even tasted the highly loved Banana and Strawberry smoothie. Love it! Before having our breakfast we took Soly for walk along the beach. It was cold, to say the least. I was definitely not particularly dressed for the freezing weather. I was wearing a dress. Not the best of ideas. But the faithful Peta and Maria were prepared with a jumper and jacket that kept me looking hilarious but lovely and warm 🙂

We returned back to the Finlaysons house for tea and I hanged out with Rachael for a but while Becca was picking up her new car!! It’s SO cool… and she’s an awesome driver 😀 I love your car Becca! 😀 Afterwards, while Rachael was hanging out with her school friends, Becca, Peta and I went into town for a Costa, to cut some keys and Becca bought some beautiful blue vans. This is when I really wish I was a size 5. No one is size 6! We had a funny experience cutting the keys where Peta thought that it would take an hour or two until he’d finished but with in the space of 20 seconds he’d already finished. Peta was absolutely astounded which made the key cutters day haha!

We met up with Peta’s parents and ate dinner in a restaurant. Rachael and I shared a plate of Nachos… You’ll see how big it is in the pictures but seriously how could even 5 people eat all that! I think we should of got a small portion and shared it. It was yummy though! They even soled Ginger Beer which was ace!!
Lastly, as it is Saturday night we went to Coffee Affair where some of our church play music. It was really fun, especially because we got to embarrass Rachael by dancing around the street. And it was worth it because people in the streets started going into the Cafe. Great! 🙂 Now, I am tired and Rachael is staying at mine overnight 🙂 I will leave you with some pictures:

In 19 and a half hours (Yes! I am counting 😀 ) I will be leaving to go to Edinburgh airport. I hope there is WiFi that I can connect to there! Then I can update you 😉 I just hate going through security. I always get beeped and then they check me and there is of course nothing and they let me carry on into the ‘boarding’ area. It’s such a boring, annoying part of the airport. It’s for safety though 😀 Then, it’s passed security to find our ‘gate’ and now comes my favorite part… shops 😀 There are so many good shops in airports. If we have a lot of time I always grab myself a Costa and take a wonder around. Anyway, we haven’t even reached tomorrow yet. In the mean time, you’ll be happy to know that I am all packed! Or at least I think so. I hope I haven’t forgotten anything.

These are going in Timmy’s bigger suitcase:D

I must say, I think I’ve done reasonably well with the whole only allowed hand luggage scenario.  Timmy has a huge suitcase because he is staying for 5 weeks so he can have some of my stuff 😀 No doubt.. I will be shopping there.

Today I had my last exams. I have 10 days off school. Amazing. Then, I start 5th year. Even more amazing.

At 12.30 I came to Becca’s and we walked into town. We had lunch at “Girvans”

image

Then we took a stroll round some shops. This hat created great amusement for me so Becca took a picture and we both had a laugh…

image

funny right? 😀 we think so.
We also went to Costa to buy coolers to of course cool us down (yes! it was that warm in Scotland) At Morrison’s we remembered to buy milk other wise there would have been no tea and that alone would have been a disaster! Becca also bought some ingredients for Fajitas.
At home we relaxed for a while with tea, music, and our high tech technology 😀
ohh I forgot to add… we were away for couple of hours and this is what we came home to!!

image

yes.
There is poo up the cupboard.
yes.
There is the a emptied bin with all sorts sprawled around the kitchen and half way around the dining area.
and yes.
There is pee all over the floor.

And of course we came home to an innocent dog pretending that he didn’t do anything at all but knowing he was bad and trying to look cute. As always:-)  He was cute. He was bad. So this resulted in him staying in the garden for a while Becca and I took the liberty of cleaning and hoovering. On top of this, Soli’s food was forgotten at our friends so he’s been banging on his bowl all day.

Anyway, then we ate Fajitas,

and finished of with “Little Pots of Joy.” delicious.
So, our day was filled with Mexican food, laughs and fun. It’s one of those day’s where we have done so much and its not even 18.30 yet. It was good day!

Yesterday as usual when I go to Aberdeen I walk into town around 9am while my brother is still fast asleep. I went costa and tried a new drink. The Hazelnut Chai Latte, which I love! I want to try all the Chai Lattes 😀 I went to H&M and I bought a vest top because I always need them and two nail polishes – One navy and one royal blue ( I love blue!:D ) Then, I got a text from Peta saying that they are in Starbucks and to come and find them, so I did. We went round and realized that St Andrews has all the good shops… Nachos, Paper chase, they even have a Super Dry… In St Andrews!! The smallest place ever and they have Super Dry… Inverness is so behind times.. we just got Super Dry 😀
Anyway, we had to trek down to the University to wake my sleepy brother up and we went to the Noodle bar for lunch. Timmy, Peta and I look like a family with our ginger hair haha!

Image

And… my brother is a giant compared to Peta and I who are like 5 foot 2. We ate noodles

Image

yum!

When we got home we were welcomed by Peta and Beccas garden tidy and lovely. It must have been such hard work. It was a great weekend:)

I always say that the days you think are going to be boring always turn out the best! Today was one if those days. I woke up knowing I had to tidy my bedroom, make lunch and do the washing. Doesn’t sound fun right? until… my beautiful fake sister texted me “What you up to today?? xxxxxxx” and then we ended up going to Costa and having s great chat:-) Afterwards, we met her mum at Anna’s house but they weren’t finished with Rachaels mums hair so Rachael and I had to amuse ourselves as Anna wasn’t there. It turned out well! We made friendship bracelets and anklets , painted our nails and had a delicious dinner! Coffee affair was on so we went. It was SO good!! People got up dancing and Emma was in such a good mood! Not that she’s not always in a good mood but seriously like making us laugh our heads off and she was bubbly and happy and it was so nice:) Here are loads of pictures from today.
